The study of theology will give you an understanding of Christian thought and show you the ways in which it has inspired philosophers, thinkers, artists and social movements across the centuries and up to the recent present, and how it has led to fierce debate. This degree will allow you to develop specific skills, such as mastery of biblical languages, and explore texts, while also challenging you to make connections between and across fields of study. The critical skills and intellectual flexibility you will develop will be valuable in a wide range of future careers. Each programme has a distinctive core, with a unique pattern of modules – some year-long and some over a single term). You will be required to take certain modules, mostly in the first year, while the range of options increases substantially in the second and third years, to suit your developing individual interests and strengths. Module options may change from year to year as we strive constantly to further improve the variety of modules on offer.
