The modern paramedic is a registered health care professional (HCP) who, on a daily basis, faces new challenges in a wide variety of situations. As the first point of contact in care provision for patients, a paramedic must show critically adaptive thinking, excellent communication skills and strong medical knowledge. As the largest regional provider of qualified health and social staff to the NHS, you’ll gain the skills and awareness you need to perform effectively as part of a team and in independent practice at Birmingham City University. Involving a combination of clinical placement and academic study, this three-year degree prepares you to practice as a paramedic and to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
