The LLB (Hons) at City provides students with the essential legal and academic skills to be successful in law as well as a range of transferable skills sought after in many other sectors. As a qualifying law degree, students can progress their studies to either the Legal Practice Course (LPC) to become a solicitor, or the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) to embark on a career at the Bar. The LLB (Hons) at The City Law School provides students with the knowledge and skills to pursue a successful career in law. Our LLB is recognised by the Law Society of England and Wales/Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Council/Bar Standards Board as satisfying the initial or academic stage of legal training. City's LLB recognises the impending changes in legal training and will prepare students for this by providing a course that will give students a wide choice of law modules to choose from in the second and third year, the opportunity to prepare for the new Solicitor's Qualifying Exam (SQE) and the opportunity to graduate with a specialised named pathway. The City Law School offers a friendly and stimulating environment for you to study in with personal feedback sessions and tutorials to underpin student learning from lectures. Students are encouraged to take part in Pro Bono work and are taught essential mooting skills from the first year. This course is suitable for anyone looking to pursue a legal career - from becoming a barrister or solicitor to working as legal counsel in large organisations. The LLB is also suitable for those who wish to pursue careers in other sectors such as banking and finance, due to the transferable skills that students can gain from this reputable degree programme.
