COURSE OF Korean Studies and Religions

SOAS University of London (Camden)

Course: http://www.soas.ac.uk/japankorea/programmes/bakorstudand/
This programme is designed for students who wish to study Korean culture across disciplines while working with the language at a suitable level, and require a shorter period of study without a year abroad in Korea. It would suit students with no prior knowledge of Korean as well as those with intermediate to advanced language skills. Compared to the four-year BA Korean degree, students have more flexibility to structure their course of study in a range of disciplines according to their individual interests and language entry level. A degree in the Study of Religions at SOAS offers an impressive range of subject areas: religions of the ancient Near East, Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Jainism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Shintoism, traditional religions of Africa and the new religious movements of our time. There is a wide range of approaches in SOAS to the study of religions. Students on this degree may pursue a special interest in one tradition, but they are also expected to select from a broad range of other options (with or without some language study), and to learn about theories and methods in the study of religions.
