Our French with Spanish BA interdisciplinary course involves following a series of required language modules throughout the programme, and also choosing from a diverse range of optional modules covering both languages. French modules will include French and Francophone literature, as well as further modules in French history, contemporary French institutions, film, politics and philosophy. The Spanish pathway will include the study of Peninsular and Latin American literature and cultural histories. The first-year required module, Global Iberias, will provide you with a broad introduction to the Hispanic world; and you will also explore a range of topics covering literature, history, film, music and visual arts from the Hispanic and Lusophone worlds. In the second and the final years of study you will explore a variety of optional modules covering Spanish and Latin American topics. By studying core language modules, you will achieve a high-level of proficiency in speaking, writing and reading in both languages, whilst developing a critical understanding of both French and Spanish history, society and culture.
