Our French with German BA involves you following required language modules throughout the programme, and also selecting from a diverse range of optional modules for both languages. Your optional modules in French cover Francophone literature from the Middle Ages to the present day, as well as further modules in French history, contemporary French institutions, film, politics and philosophy. Your German modules will include literature from all periods, German film, German history and German philosophical thought, as well as German political and social theory. The interdisciplinary nature of this course aims to develop a broad and profound critical understanding of both French and German history, society and culture while helping you to attain a high level of proficiency in speaking, writing and reading in both languages.
