The Foundation Degree (FdA) in Fashion and Costume is a creative and vocationally relevant course equivalent to the first two years of a BA (Hons) degree. It prepares you for career paths in both fashion and costume industries. The course develops professional design and manufacturing skills as well as offering opportunities for research and analysis in related specialist subjects. The course team work closely with several leading fashion retailers and collaborate with professional practitioners from the world of theatre which supports the delivery of the programme. Networking and liaising with industry contacts is an integral part of the course. Design briefs offer creative challenge developing illustration skills, graphic presentation and 3D garment production.You will explore specialist sector skills, gaining an insight into tailoring and corsetry.
