The Foundation Degree in Contemporary Fine Art Practice course will aim to empower students with a set of creative and current skills required to produce vibrant and professional work, the practical knowledge gained will be underpinned and contextualised through study of art theory and context, allowing informed and progressive work through a multidisciplinary approach. The course will also seek to develop the professional context to student’s practice, through developing a solid understanding of business practice, as well as exhibition and promotional experience. Students will leave the course with a strong personal practice and the confidence and ability to independently take it forwards into the arena of the Creative Industries or, if desired, the potentially the opportunity to top up their Foundation Degree to a BA with one year of study at level 6 with Plymouth University. The course will also offer students an exciting opportunity to study Fine Art within a beautiful area of the country with a thriving creative scene.
