The Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) includes a range of modules chosen to give learners a comprehensive understanding of the equine sports and coaching industry. The course has a strong vocational emphasis, designed to build practical competence and successfully equip students with the skills necessary to succeed in business.
Students will benefit from high quality facilities including access to a wide range of horses, indoor stabling and training arena complete with mirrors and cameras. In addition, outdoor all weather arenas are available as well as BSJA jumps and cross country schooling fences.
There will be the opportunity to study a broad range of modules within the course including Equine exercise physiology, Equine Sports Medicine, Applied Sports Coaching, Sport and Exercise Psychology and Management of performance horses.
You will be taught by experienced tutors who possess extensive knowledge of the equine industry and related industry qualifications. Throughout this course, a combination of teaching methods is adopted including lectures, presentations, practical horse handling and laboratory experiments.
Following successful completion of the course, students will have the option to top up with one year’s study at university.

English language requirements: No factor below 5.5. For those resident in the UK who have suitable work experience, a college English test is available to show competency in English.
