Developed in response to continued public interest in animal behaviour & welfare, fundamental legislative changes affecting how animals are kept & employer demand for highly qualified individuals within a range of animal management settings, this programme is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of animal behaviour. It will ultimately equip them with the necessary knowledge to assess the welfare needs & devise appropriate management strategies for farm, laboratory, zoo & companion animals. This foundation degree is delivered by a team of highly experienced staff with a breadth of industry & research experience, including input from internationally renowned organisations. The course is presented through a combination of lectures, discussions, assignments, practical activities, visiting guest speakers, specialist visits & includes a 250 hour industry placement prior to starting Level 5. Students can also expect to attend a study tour.
